You ask me to provide my services, I disclose, we agree on engagement terms and you receive the completed job.
Some like to present legal costing as a combination of art, science and magic, an esoteric field of expertise - really it’s simply a service that experience enables me to understand and that I consider a privilege to be asked to provide to practitioners and their clients.
My experience has also taught me my professional limits and what is important to practitioners. Consequently, I provide my services at appropriate prices, never allowing myself to be inflated with self-importance by the “expert” label or by for whom I have previously been engaged.
I will only undertake work in jurisdictions that I understand and would never presume that you need my advice on practice management. I will certainly never bore you by telling you about my i.t. or anything else about how I perform my work and I don’t think you need to be grateful that my work product will be of “quality”.
